For airlines, MRO, airports and ministries

She is six. In 2044 she will be flying your fleet.

Every engineer you employ started as a child looking up. Our aircraft's blank tail is waiting for your name.

This page takes about five minutes. The one minute brief

What a book does over twenty years.

Age 6

She meets Sunny.

A picture book on a tray table, or in a school library. Inside it, a hangar, an engine, a girl with a wrench. On the wall of that hangar: your name.

You are not funding a book. You are hiring, twenty years early.

A pipeline problem that starts before recruitment can reach it.

  1. 2.4 million

new pilots, technicians and cabin crew needed worldwide by 2044. Two-thirds are replacements. South and Southeast Asia's demand more than triples.

  2. Age 7

The difference between what children want to be at seven and at seventeen is marginal. The window is primary school, not university.

  3. 45%

of children with nobody in the field say TV, film and stories decided their ambition. If a child has no engineer at home, a story is the only way in.

  4. 4x

more boys than girls aspire to engineering by age eleven. Women are around 5% of airline pilots and under 4% of captains. Sunny is a six-year-old girl who fixes engines. That is deliberate.

  5. 10%

Airline CSR funds education. Nobody funds aviation.

Emirates repurposes seat fabric into school bags. Etihad refurbishes classrooms. Qatar Airways backs global literacy. All real, all valuable, and none of it puts a jet engine in front of a seven-year-old.

The one thing the industry needs most from children, for some of them to grow up wanting to be its engineers, is the one thing its CSR budgets do not currently buy. Special North is built for exactly that gap.

The aircraft in our books flies with a blank tail.

It has done since the first title. Type your name and see why.

In a co-branded edition your livery goes on the tail, your name on the hangar wall, and your engineers into the story. Every child who reads it meets you first.

Case: Wings of Tomorrow

An in-flight STEAM and inclusivity programme for the UAE.

Wings of Tomorrow proposes turning a child's passive flight hours into an active learning environment: an inclusive book printed with dual text and embossed Braille, paired with a tool-free self-assembly aircraft model, distributed on premium departures from Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The programme is mapped to We the UAE 2031, the Ministry of Education STEAM Strategy, the National Inclusion Policy and Net Zero 2050, and to SDGs 4, 10 and 12. The pilot ask: a 10,000-unit batch to validate operational fit and passenger engagement.

Questions we are asked

The things parents, schools and partners ask first, answered from what the books and the company actually do.

  • Special North partners with airlines, MRO companies, airports and ministries on three scales: a single co-branded print run for one route or event, a sustained programme across a network with impact reporting, or a founding partnership on a title or the animated series.

Twenty years from now, someone will sign off your aircraft.

Let us make sure they met you when they were six.
